Description

Children will revisit and consolidate their learning of the 5 and 10 times-tables. They will focus on multiples of 5 and 10 and the links between them. Children should recognise that a multiple of 5 is whole number with a ones digit with either 5 or 0. They should recognise that a whole number is a multiple of 10 if the ones digit is 0. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.

National Curriculum Objectives: Mathematics Year 3:

• Count in steps of 2, 3 and 5 from 0, and in 10s from any number, forward and backward (Y2) • Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables, including recognising odd and even numbers (Y2)
