In this objective, children will learn how to add the -ing suffix to base words to show that a verb is continuing. Over three  20-minute lessons, they will:
·               Recap base words that are verbs
·               Revisit learning on the past tense suffix -ed
·               Review learning on verb phrases and the auxiliary verb ‘to be’
·               Implement verbs with the suffix -ing into verb phrases
·               Differentiate between ‘ing’ as a spelling pattern and ‘-ing’ as a suffix
·               Learn how to add the suffix -ing to regular verbs
·               Review consonants and vowels
·               Learn three spelling rules (do nothing and add the -ing suffix, double a consonant add the -ing suffix, drop e and add the -ing suffix)
·               Reinforce learning with practical games
