Description

In this objective, children will learn how to add suffix -y to bases to form words that carry a sense of "describing". In three 20-minute lessons, they will:

Spell simple base spellings Review learning of consonant and vowel letters Learn that adding suffix -y to some noun bases turns them into adjectives in a sentence Learn three spelling rules:

Just add the suffix -y Double the final consonant letter when a base ends in a CVC pattern, then add the suffix -y. Drop the final silent e vowel letter, then add the suffix -y
