
In this objective, children will learn how to add suffix -ed to bases to show past tense. Over six 20-minute lessons, they will:
· Revisit past learning on tense
· Review learning of consonant and vowel letters
· Recap bases that are verbs
· Learn how to add the suffix -ed to regular verbs

· Learn four spelling rules for adding suffix -ed:
Double the final consonant letter when a word ends in a CVC pattern, then add the suffix -ed.
Drop the final silent e vowel letter, then add the suffix -ed.
Change the final letter y after a consonant letter to i, then add the suffix -ed
Just add the suffix -ed
