In this objective, children will learn how to add the -ed suffix to base words to show past tense.  Over six  20-minute lessons, they will:

·      Revisit past learning on tense

·      Review learning of consonants and vowels

·      Recap base words that are verbs

·      Learn how to add the suffix -ed to regular verbs

·      Explore the different sounds that the suffix -ed can make when added to a base word

·      Review consonants and vowels

·      Learn four spelling rules (do nothing and add -ed suffix, double a consonant add -ed suffix, drop e and add the suffix -ed and turn y into i and add the suffix -ed))

·      Reinforce learning with practical games
