In this objective, children will learn how to add the suffix -ly to base words.  Over three 20-minute lessons, they will:

·      Learn that the prefix -ly can be added to an adjective to make an adverb that tells us how
·      Add the suffix -ly to a range of base words
·      Recap spelling rules of the suffix -s, es and -ed
·      Learn how to add the suffix -ly when a base word ends in y
·      Learn how to add the suffix -ly when a base word ends in le
·      Sort base words depending on the spelling rule they will follow when adding the suffix-ly
·      Reinforce learning with practical games
