
In this lesson, children will be introduced to metres (m) as a standard unit of measure. They will use a metre stick or a tape measure to measure objects to the nearest metre. Children will learn that metres are greater than centimetres and are used when measuring larger objects. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by additional fluency questions, differentiated practical fluency activities, differentiated reasoning and problem-solving challenge cards.
