Y2 Objective 10 (Suffix -ly)

In this objective, children will learn how to add the suffix -ly to bases. Over three 20-minute lessons, they will:

· Learn that the prefix -ly can be added to an adjective to make an adverb that tells us how

· Add the suffix -ly to a range of bases

· Recap spelling rules of the suffix -s, -es and -ed

· Learn how to add the suffix -ly when a base ends in the letter y

· Sort bases depending on the spelling rule they will follow when adding the suffix-ly

· Reinforce learning with practical games
