This lesson allows children to look more closely at the roots of a plant and their function. During this lesson, the children will be creating observational drawings of roots of a plant. This lesson will work best if children can experience roots first hand by looking at real plants. The presentation suggests that the class go on a weed hunt around the school grounds and collect their own plants. Magnifying glasses are also needed.
