suffix -ed, suffix -ing, suffix -er, -or (Y2) and prefix de- (Y3)
In this objective, children will learn how to add prefix per- to bases and stems. Over three 20-minute lessons, they will:
· Understand how adding the prefix per- changes the meaning of the base or stem.
· Explore bases and stems, developing understanding of how words are formed by combining with different morphemes.· Apply three spelling rules:
Double the final consonant letter when a word ends in a CVC pattern and the stress is on the last syllable, then add the vowel suffix.
Drop the final silent e vowel letter, then add the vowel suffix.
Just add the suffix -y.
