· Secure simple base spellings
· Review learning of consonant and vowel letters
· Learn that adding suffix -y to some noun bases turns them into adjectives
· Learn three spelling rules:
Double the final consonant letter when a word ends in a CVC pattern, then add the suffix -y.
Drop the final silent e vowel letter, then add the suffix -y .
Just add the suffix -y
