In this lesson, children will add decimals that total more than one whole. They will use place value counters and visual models such as a number line to support them. They put into practice the previous lesson to focus on making one first (using complements) then crossing the whole, adding on the remaining decimal to arrive at the answer. There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.
