In this lesson, children begin to add and subtract decimals within 1 using known facts and visual representations such as number lines and place value charts. They begin to understand the relationship between whole numbers and decimals to solve simple calculations. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.

·         Recognise and use thousandths and relate them to tenths, hundredths and decimal equivalents
•Solve problems involving numbers up to 3 decimal places
