Children use their knowledge of grouping and sharing and explore dividing by 8 through sharing into 8 equal groups and grouping into 8s. Children will continue to develop identifying whether a question involves sharing or grouping. They will also use appropriate concrete manipulatives or pictorial representations to support their understanding.

Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 3, 4 and 8 multiplication tables  Write and calculate mathematical statements for multiplication and division using the multiplication tables that they know, including for 2-digit numbers times 1-digit numbers, using mental and progressing to formal written methods
