Prior to this objective, teachers should assess the suggested morphemes for a narrative characterising speech using the provided materials. In this objective, children will learn how to affix base post to bases and stems.
Over three  20-minute lessons, they will:
·       Understand how affixing base post changes the meaning of the base or stem
.       Apply prior knowledge of morphemes to explore bases and their word families
·       Develop understanding of stems and using complex vocabulary in context.
·       Practise breaking down complex words into their morphemes and apply the ‘Drop the final e silent vowel letter’ suffix rule
·       Reinforce learning with practical activities
