In this objective, children will learn how to add the prefix trans- to both bound and free base words. Over three 20-minute lessons, they will:

Explore bound and free base words
Learn about the etymology of bound base words with the prefix trans-
Review the previous affixes covered in the scheme so far
Review the spelling rules for adding -ed and -ing to words
Add morphemes; -er, -or, -s, -ed, and -ing to new words
Classify words with the prefix trans- into nouns, adjectives and verbs
Reinforce learning with practical games
