Description

In this lesson, children will use their understanding of a quarter to find a quarter of a number of objects. They will use concrete resources to physically find a quarter and pictorial representations to support their learning. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by additional fluency questions, differentiated practical fluency activities, differentiated reasoning and problem-solving challenge cards.

National Curriculum Objectives: Mathematics Year 2:

Recognise, find, name and write fractions 1/3, 1/4, 2/4 and 3/4 of a length, shape, set of objects or quantity Write simple fractions, for example 1/2 of 6 = 3 and recognise the equivalence of 2/4 and 1/2
