
In this lesson, children build on previous understanding of pictograms with keys that represent 2, 5 or 10 objects per symbol. Children are encouraged to interpret the data and use appropriate values for symbols in keys to draw pictograms. They are also introduced to the concept of half symbols and how to work out their value. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by additional fluency questions, differentiated practical fluency activities, differentiated reasoning and problem-solving challenge cards.
