Description

In this lesson, children explore flexible partitioning, using familiar manipulatives. They partition in the standard form and then physically move tens and ones to partition in alternative ways. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.

• Identify, represent and estimate numbers using different representations, including the number line
• Recognise the place value of each digit in a 2-digit number (tens, ones)
