
In this lesson, children will build on the previous learning in Year 1 to describe how an object turns. They will recap quarter, half, three-quarter and full turns and then further develop their understanding of clockwise and anticlockwise. They will have the opportunity to turn shapes as well as draw shapes in their final position.

Use mathematical vocabulary to describe position, direction and movement, including movement in a straight line and distinguishing between rotation as a turn and in terms of right
angles for quarter, half and three-quarter turns (clockwise and anticlockwise)
