In this objective, children will learn how to add suffix -ism to bases and stems.Over three 20-minute lessons, they will:
· Understand how adding the suffix -ism changes the meaning of the base or stem
· Review learning of abstract nouns and those formed by adding the suffix
-ism
· Develop understanding of stems and using complex vocabulary in context.
· Build on understanding to decode the meaning of complex words.
· Practise breaking down complex words into their morphemes and apply the ‘Drop the final e silent vowel letter’ suffix rule.
· Reinforce learning with practical activities
