This editable lesson focuses on the core DT skill of evaluating. In this lesson, children evaluate their finished dish against their design criteria, considering flavour, texture, appearance and how well it meets its purpose as part of a healthy school meal. They reflect on what worked well and suggest improvements to make their dish more balanced, appealing or suitable for the intended user.
Please refer to the DT safety guidance for schools and teachers advice when undertaking any practical activities. Schools should also carry out their own risk assessment in line with school/LA/MAT policies before delivering this lesson.
