Year 4 Length and Perimeter – Perimeter of a polygon – Lesson 9
In this lesson, children will build on their learning of polygons and learn the term ‘irregular’ to describe shapes that have different sized angles and lengths.

Mathematics Year 4:
- measure and calculate the perimeter of a rectilinear figure (including squares) in centimetres and metres
- find the area of rectilinear shapes by counting squares
