In this lesson, children begin to recognise tens as a unit. The use of base 10 helps to explore the physical size of a ‘ten’
as made up of 10 ones. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.
