In this lesson, children continue to develop their understanding of addition as combining two parts to make a whole. They look at this more formally, bringing two parts together and representing their additions using number sentences and mathematical language. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.
