Description

In this lesson, children build upon previous learning of column subtraction and learn how to subtract more than 4 digits in various contexts. Children will need to exchange and use zero as a placeholder. There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.

use rounding to check answers to calculations and determine, in the context of a problem, levels of accuracy
