This differentiated science lesson introduces microorganisms. We begin to name some common microorganisms and learn that some microbes are helpful while others harmful. The focus of the Lesson is a practical session with yeast to establish that it respires, giving off carbon dioxide gas. Children work through a modelled prediction and are asked to think of ways to record and present results.
