Description

In this lesson, children count forwards and backwards, through zero in 1s. Children will be exposed to horizontal number lines which will reinforce the reflective aspect of positive and negative numbers. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.

· Interpret negative numbers in context, count forwards and backwards
with positive and negative whole numbers, including through zero.
