In this lesson, children extend their knowledge of partitioning to deal with larger numbers. They partition numbers using the place value columns, as well as in other, flexible ways (for example 37,319 = 24,207 + 13,112). This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.
