
In this lesson, children further their understanding of time past and to the hour by practising reading and creating times when the minute hand is on either the right or left side of the clock. They learn that once time has passed 30 minutes, time becomes to the hour. They also further their understanding of the position of the hour hand in between numbers as time progresses.
This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by additional fluency questions, differentiated practical fluency activities, differentiated reasoning and problem-solving challenge cards.
National Curriculum objectives:
Tell and write the time to five minutes, including quarter past/to the hour and draw the hands on a clock face to show these times
