In this lesson, children focus on being able to tell the time in 5 minute intervals when the minute hand is in the second half of the clock. They gain a deeper understanding of the phrase ‘to the hour’ and can model given times on their own clocks.
This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by additional fluency questions, differentiated practical fluency activities, differentiated reasoning and problem-solving challenge cards.

Tell and write the time to five minutes, including quarter past/to the hour and draw the hands on a clock face to show these times
