In this lesson, children build on their learning from the previous step to explore how coordinates change after translation. They explore how translating left/right affects the x-coordinate and how translating up/down affects the y-coordinate and use this to work out new coordinates of translated points. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.
