In this lesson, children will learn to describe properties of 2-D shapes by focussing on counting their corners, understanding these as vertices. They will do this using concrete and pictorial representations. Children should be provided with physical resources to explore. There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.
