
This editable lesson focuses on the core DT skill of making. In this lesson, children follow an agreed recipe to assemble their sushi burrito, applying accurate preparation skills and refining their outcome where needed. Using a structured station approach, children demonstrate safe chopping, peeling or grating techniques under adult supervision before assembling and wrapping their product. Throughout the lesson, children are encouraged to reflect and make small adjustments to improve flavour balance, presentation or assembly. Please refer to the DT safety guidance for schools and teachers advice when undertaking any practical activities. Schools should also carry out their own risk assessment in line with school/LA/MAT policies before delivering this lesson.
