
This editable lesson focuses on the core DT skill of technical knowledge. In this lesson, children learn how to prepare food safely by following simple hygiene routines and using tools carefully. Through a carousel of adult-led and independent stations, children practise washing hands and food, chopping soft fruits or vegetables using child-safe equipment and sorting actions into safe and not safe. The lesson builds confidence in safe food preparation and reinforces the importance of listening to adults and working calmly and carefully.
