
This editable lesson focuses on the core Design and Technology (DT) skill of evaluating. In this lesson, children test their electric Roman chariot against the design criteria, focusing on strength, stability and how effectively electricity creates movement. They compare the finished chariot to their original design, identify what works well and what could be improved, and use discussion and peer feedback to reflect through a test–improve–evaluate process. As an optional extension, children may extend their learning by using simple computing control to operate the motor instead of a physical switch.
