
This editable lesson focuses on the core Design and Technology (DT) skill of developing technical knowledge. In this lesson, children learn and practise key stitches such as running stitch and backstitch, comparing their strength, security and suitability for making a textile product. They explore how stitches can reinforce a seam and why accurate technique helps improve durability.
