This editable lesson focuses on the core Design and Technology (D&T) skill of developing technical knowledge.
Linked to science, in this lesson, the children will learn how electrical systems can be used to create movement, light, or sound in a product. They will explore how circuits with switches, bulbs, buzzers, or motors can be incorporated into a model. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on exploration, pupils will investigate how different systems function and how they can be safely and effectively used to achieve special effects in a Gothic-themed model.
NOTE TO TEACHERS: Button cells are hazardous if swallowed or used incorrectly. Battery holders reduce risk. Conduct your own risk assessment and follow CLEAPSS guidance.
