
This editable lesson focuses on the core DT skill of evaluating. In this lesson, children taste and evaluate their completed summer roll, using food vocabulary to describe flavour, texture and appearance. They reflect on how well their ingredients worked together, consider how their food fits into a balanced, healthy diet and suggest one improvement they would make another time. This lesson helps children develop confidence in evaluating food products thoughtfully and respectfully, building on the skills learned throughout the unit. Please refer to the DT safety guidance for schools and teachers advice when undertaking any practical activities.
