
This editable lesson focuses on the core DT skill of technical knowledge. In this lesson, children learn how to prepare food safely by practising key skills such as peeling, slicing and grating vegetables. They develop an understanding of good hygiene, safe tool use and controlled movements, building confidence in preparing ingredients carefully. These skills prepare children for making food safely in later lessons and for use in a range of dishes in the future. Please refer to the DT safety guidance for schools and teachers advice when undertaking any practical activities.
