
This editable lesson focuses on the core Design and Technology (D&T) skill of developing technical knowledge. In this practical lesson, children will follow step-by-step instructions to build a wooden chassis with wheels and axles for a Roman chariot. They will work safely with tools, test how well their chassis moves and carry out simple MOT-style checks to identify and fix problems. Children will adjust and improve their builds to ensure the chassis is stable, aligned and able to move smoothly.
