This editable lesson pack focuses on the core Design and Technology (DT) skill of researching through hands-on exploration. In this lesson, the children will explore a variety of fabric products, including different types of bookmarks. They will discuss which examples are functional, appealing, or both and begin to develop their understanding of what makes a successful textile product. They will also practise threading a needle to prepare for using sewing tools safely in later lessons.
