Description

This model text is a narrative about a group of children who have to navigate the River Amazon to reach safety after a plane crash. It follows Grammarsaurus's 'into the unknown' story path. It has been written to meet the Year 6 expected standard and comes with a handy annotated version detailing the text-type specific features (red), grammar (green), punctuation (purple) and spelling (blue) teaching opportunities should you wish to use this text with your learners.

Year 6: Pupils should be taught to describe settings, characters and atmosphere, integrating dialogue to convey character and advance the action.
