Description

This model text is a diary entry written in the role of Brutus. It recounts his experience as Julius Caesar's ghost appears before him. It has been written to meet the Year 5 expected standard and comes with a handy annotated version detailing the text-type specific features (red), grammar (green), punctuation (purple) and spelling (blue) teaching opportunities should you wish to use this text with your learners.
National curriculum objectives:
Year 5: Pupils should be taught to identify the audience and purpose of the writing, selecting the appropriate form, and using other similar writing as models for their own.
