Learn that prefix ad- is the head of a family of related prefixes that all share the meaning “to or towards” Learn where and why assimilation of prefix ad- occurs Solve a variety of word sums by building morphemes and applying suffixing rules Explore a range of bases and stems that combine with prefix ad- and its assimilated forms Use word webs and matrices to explore building word families with a range of bases such as free bases 'dress' and 'apt' as well as bound bases 'mire', 'pl' and 'chieve' Apply learning of the assimilated forms of prefix ad- Reinforce learning with practical games
