This activity will encourage children to find the initial phase 2 and 3 sounds in words. Children need to use their phonic skills to match the correct pearl to the shell.
Objectives
Children in Reception
Learn new vocabulary. (CL)
Read individual letters by saying the sounds for them. (L)
Blend sounds into words, so that they can read short words made up of known letter-sound correspondences. (L)
