Description

This model text is a diary about a refugee's time at his new school. It has been written to meet the Year 4 expected standard and comes with a handy annotated version detailing the text-type specific features (red), grammar (green), punctuation (purple) and spelling (blue) teaching opportunities should you wish to use this text with your learners. This resource also comes with a ‘model text comprehension pack’ focusing on content domains 2a, 2b and 2d.

Year 4: Pupils should be taught to organise paragraphs around a theme.
Pupils should be taught to use simple organisational devices in writing.
