Description

In this lesson, children will build on their learning of thousandths from the previous lesson by showing them as decimals. They will be taught how 1/1000 (this to be written as a fraction please) is written as 0.001 as a decimal. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions. National Curriculum Objectives: Mathematics Year 5: • Recognise and use thousandths and relate them to tenths, hundredths and decimal equivalents • Read, write, order and compare numbers with up to 3 decimal places
