
In this lesson, children are introduced to imperial units of measure and how to convert between metric and imperial systems. They explore and discuss both the metric and imperial systems and look at scenarios where they are used and how conversions are approximate and not exact. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.

· Understand and use approximate equivalences between metric units and common imperial units such as inches, pounds and pints
