
In this lesson, children will be introduced to centimetres (cm) as a standard unit of measure. They will use a ruler to measure and compare the length of objects. Children will also gain an understanding that they will look at the nearest whole centimetre when measuring an object that is not a precise number of centimetres. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated practical fluency activities and differentiated reasoning and problem-solving challenge cards.
