This editable differentiated lesson pack focuses on seeds. Lesson 2 introduces children to germination and helps them understand that seeds are alive even before they start to grow. Children observe a range of seeds closely, compare their features and set up simple germination activities so they can watch early changes over time. They learn that seeds need water and warmth, not sunlight, to begin growing. The lesson builds early enquiry skills by encouraging children to make predictions and talk about what they notice as their seeds begin to change.
The file includes the following resources: - editable teaching presentation - editable activity observation diary - editable additional activity ideas - editable lesson plan - editable focus assessment worksheet
